Description

Archer is an animated, half-hour comedy that revolves around an international spy agency and the lives of its employees. Although their work of espionage, reconnaissance missions, wiretapping and undercover surveillances is daunting and enigmatic, every covert operation and global crisis are actually unmitigated occasions for the staff to undermine, sabotage and betray each other for personal gains, pleasures and prosperity. The series features the voices of H. Jon Benjamin as the highly skilled yet incredibly vain master spy “Sterling Archer;” Aisha Tyler as fellow agent provocateur “Lana Kane;” Jessica Walter as Archer’s domineering mother and the rapacious CEO of the agency, “Malory Archer;” Chris Parnell as the easily intimidated comptroller, “Cyril Figgis;” Judy Greer as Malory’s loquacious secretary, “Cheryl;” Amber Nash as the discordant director of human resources, “Pam Poovey;” and George Coe as Archer’s elderly and always exploited butler, “Woodhouse.” An FX Networks Original Series.

  • SD looks great, not sure what you'd get with HD

Since most people already know that the show is hilarious, I thought I'd just offer an opinion on the quality of SD. I have a 32 inch TV which isn't huge, but isn't tiny either and I think the SD version looks pretty sharp on it (playing through HDMI on my iPhone). Given the general complexity of frames of animation, I'm not sure if you'd really get that much more out of the high definition version. Now I haven't seen what the HD version looks like on my TV since I didn't buy both versions of the same season, but I'm just offering the opinion that the SD quality is more than adequate for my tastes. If you're an HD junkie and/or the extra 10 bucks isn't a big deal to you, then go ahead and buy the HD version. At least if you get the HD you won't later think "dang, I should have bought the HD version because the SD isn't super sharp on my 70 inch TV". But if you're wondering if you're going to be dissapointed with the quality on an AVERAGE size TV if you go with the SD version, my opinion is that you probably won't.

I'm not even much of a fan of animation and I love Archer! It may be my favorite TV show. If you love spoofs, spy action flicks, or James Bond, give Archer a chance --- if you love all of these, you'll be hooked!
