A wonderful overview of insects and other invertebrates. Each episode examines a single facet of these creatures from an evolutionary perspective, exploring the advantages a particular adaptation offers and using amazing footage of real insects in their natural habitat for examples. To make things particularly interesting, Attenborough focuses on a mix of unusual insects with bizarre traits and peculiar or seldom seen behaviors of more familiar creatures you might find in your own back yard. One of the best insect documentaries I’ve ever seen by a master of nature documentaries.

I've always like catching little critters in my backyard ever since I've been able to walk. My interest for entomology has never stopped and the desire to learn more and more never stops. This documentary is very educational. I learned a lot from it. Everything Attenborough does is great.

By this nickname better not be taken
this is the best nature series i've seen in a long time, maybe ever. the camera innovations and the footage they were able to get is unreal, and the portraits of the insects' lives were fascinating.
