Lincoln Burrows is currently on death row and scheduled to die in a few months for an assassination his younger brother Michael is convinced he did not commit. With no other options and time winding down, Michael takes drastic measures to get himself incarcerated alongside his brother in Fox River State Penitentiary. Once he's inside, Michael, a structural engineer with the blueprints for the prison, begins to execute an elaborate plan to break Lincoln out and prove him innocent. When Michael arrives at the jail, he meets the prison denizens who will, unknowingly, help in his escape plans. Meanwhile, outside the prison walls, the brothers' childhood friend and Lincoln's lost love, attorney Veronica Donovan, works within the law to free them; Lincoln's teenage son LJ may be going down a path similar to his convicted father's; and Secret Service Agent Paul Kellerman's investigation into Lincoln's case proves that there may be a national conspiracy at work.

I started watching after the full series had ended, and I completely binge watched from pilot to finale. It keeps you on the edge of your seat and you get so invested in the characters. They go from good to bad, bad to good, up to down, left to right, and back again. Everyone is trying to outsmart or overpower each other and its just so clever. Plus it doesn’t hurt that Wentworth Miller has the best Blue Steel glare ;-)

I love series like this, in which there's an evil person who wants to eliminate the threat in the most horrible way possible. This show is great, but the overall description should be a bit better. I only watched season 1 so far, but when I first started watching it, then the only "evil" guy is a policeman. It's until a lot later that you realize this series isn't just about a prison break, it's about clearing an innocent man's name, and then the real vilain finally comes into play. I watched the first episode with a lot of doubt, but as it turns out, it was worth it! I'm definately hooked to this show now! A lot of people complain when a whole movie, and especially a whole TV series is in just one place, but this series hopefully proves that evenn though the majority of it takes place in a prison, it's the story that actually counts for anything. The music is excellent, because it doesn't really drown out the character's voices. The acting is unbelievable! Everything in this show is very realistic, although sometimes the stunts (so far just one) could use a little work because I could see a little, slight error, but I think for most people, it shouldn't make that much of a big deal. The one error was just an error because the camera switched to a different one a bit too late, but it's not too bad. Anyway, all the characters seem very realistic, and it's very well done and acted by all of its cast. Bravo! Throughout the whole show, however, I had the question: "Why didn't they know he designed the place?" and "How in the world did he manage to do that?" and "Are the guards really that stupid?" Seriously, the guards in this series are portrayed mainly as a bunch of people who must have their heads in the clouds all the time. Michael (one of the main characters) seems to get away with absolutely anything, although eventually, luckily, someone said "enough" and made it a bit more realistic and made it so the guards actually at least sometimes seem to have a brain in their skull instead of in their job (you know what I mean?) The ending of each episode is very well done. It made me want to watch another, and then another, and then I'm blind from watching too much TV! (Not really...) Anyway, aside from some mistakes (there aren't many) then this is an astounding series that really kept my attention from the moment I started watching it. If you haven't seen this series yet, then at least watch the pilot episode before you make a judgement about it. Even though it starts out slow, where almost like the first few episodes are the prologue of the whole show, it gets a lot better, believe me.
