  • Excellent crime drama

They take the genre, at its best, and improve on it. I thought the first couple of episodes of Season 2 were too moody and drawn out without much happening besides artistic moods. But that doesnt last long when you see the rest of the season. You wonder if life gives what you put in and not just what you take, and as each epi progresses, you see you may not always get what you want, but you get what you need. Bravo.
  • Masterpiece

This might be the one of the best written TV shows I've seen in the last few years.
  • Fantastic

What? Only one review so far? If you're not watching this you are missing a masterpiece. Yes the characters are superb but the storyline and shots of Naples provide a view of European society that most Americans rarely see --Michael Moore and lib friends, please pay attention (my political statement).
  • Surpasses Season 1!

What I love about Gomorrah is its lack of tropes/cliches in the plot and character development. Sure, it’s a story about organized crime, but you really can’t predict where this story is going and where it goes is just brilliant storytelling. The characters are just superbly drawn and stay true to their nature in unanticipated scenarios. Genny is a favorite character—he is what his parents made him; they wanted a brute instead of a sweet boy. Ciro is always calculating and utterly ruthless. One of my favorite episodes takes place in Germany between Genny and his father. It’s both heartbreaking in the way it portrays that relationship and thrilling, as it portrays the pressure they are under. Isn’t there a season 3?
