I'm truly grateful that season five has arrived! This animation series is living breathing art! this is my favorite childhood cartoon! Should not be watched on YT or watched illegitimately! My sincerest thank you to the creators of samurai Jack!

So glad to see Jack again - been a fan since the first season. Having seen all 4 new episodes so far, I'm glad to see some of the same elements that made the original run great: the animation design, backgrounds, the light-hearted humor, suspense, and great choreographed combat sequences. However, I can see Jack's inner conflict about killing getting really old, though. I remember he killed a warrior in season 1 so the warrior could enter Valhalla - so this is nothing new. I hope they gradually move the theme to something else - overall, I see this as a respite from some of the other animated shows currently out there.

How the show uses symbolism and beautifully constructs a believable and immersive setting is impressive to say the least. especially for an animated show that was cancelled but a few years ago. I can't wait for the end of the season and ending to a legendary character from my childhood.

This new season ,4 episodes in, is terrific! Although it is only a cartoon Genndy treats it so much like a professional film. To be honest this cartoon is more of an Oscar worthy film than just another cartoon.

I am loving the show thus far but Apple needs to get it together because I cannot play episode four. I paid money to own this show so ya'll better fix this ish.

So far I've watched 4 episodes and I have that season 5 of Samurai Jack just blows me away on every single level of cartoon entertainment! It has this sort of sense of being unique while maintaining to its original formula, and I can say that the most effort that went into this process was not only the soundtrack, which sounds brilliant BTW, but the attention to detail from the animation looks like a step above from season 1-4, and that's exactly what the series aims for!
  • A series done justice

This cartoon series redefines cartoons by taking an already extraordinary show and making it even more awesome by using amazing action and detailed storytelling. It is definitely one of the best cartoons I have ever watched.

As a new fan to samurai jack, I knew that this season would be pointed toward older audiences based from other reviews and the content of the episodes. As a new fan, my mind was open to anything, as long as it wasn't another situation like Cartoon Network's "Uncle Grandpa". I was absolutely blown away at what I saw. The first episode took us into the new state of a new era, the background told us how the world was in ruin. THIS is how you set the atmosphere in ANY movie or TV show. This is clearly not a typical kids cartoon, as the series from the 90s has adapted to its older audiences instead of being friendly to new audience, which was how a series should be! All the other episodes are simply incredible, the music, the backgrounds, it fits the entire plot! In conclusion, this series at its current state is absolutely a 5 star!!

I've been a fan for over a decade and i'm impressed by the consistancy in quality and darker twist the show has taken. The new content is masterfully executed, I would expect nothing less from Tartakovsky.
